Mission Statement:
Through the Kinship Initiative, the people of North Lawndale and Old St. Patrick's walk alongside one another in friendship, sharing our time, talents, and resources to secure justice, opportunity, and transformation for our communities.
Old St. Pat's is proud to partner with NLARA because we believe in its vision of providing nurturing environments for safe, supervised play for the youth of North Lawndale. We are especially committed to supporting the free programming NLARA sponsors, which stands in stark contrast to the expensive "pay to play" environment found in many well resourced communities across the country.
When asked about his involvement, Connor, an Old St. Pat's member, said:
"It was a blast working with those kids at the basketball clinic. They got a lot out of it, and not only were they excited, but their parents were too. I was surprised by the number of adults who stayed for the whole session to watch and cheer their children on through the drills. It felt like a real community in that gym."
